Lenox Porcelain Boy Scout Tennis Award Bowl Peter Benchley - Peter Benchley's Lenox porcelain award bowl, commemorating the Boy Scout Tennis event held on June 8, 1975. The vessel is constructed of cream-toned porcelain in a footed tazza form. It features a hand-applied gold-gilded rim with a secondary parallel line detail. The fluted pedestal base is heavily gilded, transitioning to a smooth circular foot with further gold banding. The front face bears a transfer-printed inscription in gold-toned serif lettering reading Peter Benchley / Boy Scout Tennis / June 8, 1975. The interior is finished with a smooth, clear glaze. 4 1/2” H x 7 3/8” diameter. From the personal collection of Peter Benchley (American, 1940–2006), acclaimed author of Jaws, accomplished diver, and prominent advocate for ocean and shark conservation.
