2 Vari-Vue Richard Nixon Campaign and Soviet Moscow Enamel Pins - Two collectible pins belonging to Peter Benchley including a political campaign button and a Soviet commemorative lapel pin. The larger item is a lenticular campaign button for Richard Nixon, featuring a flicker effect that alternates between a black and white portrait of Nixon and the phrase I'M FOR NIXON. It is constructed with a plastic lenticular lens secured within a blue metal rim. The verso is coated in blue paint and displays a printed white mark reading VARI-VUE by PICTORIAL PRODUCTIONS, INC. MT. VERNON, N. Y., U.S.A. PAT. NO. 2,815,310, along with a union logo for the Amalgamated Lithographers of America. The second item is a shield-shaped souvenir pin representing Moscow as part of the Golden Ring tourist route. It is made of gold-tone base metal with cream and red enamel. The central crest depicts Saint George on horseback, the coat of arms for Moscow. The textured verso features a safety pin attachment and is marked with a small device and the price Ц 15к.
