Peter Benchley Monogrammed Hartmann Leather Briefcase - Hartmann hard-sided briefcase constructed from heavy-weight brown leather, formerly the property of author Peter Benchley. The case features a classic rectangular form with reinforced stitched edges and a matching leather handle. The interior is lined in an olive-grey textured fabric and contains a hinged file divider secured by two cream-colored fabric straps with metal buckles, alongside two garment straps at the base. The briefcase is fitted with two brass latches, brass hinges, and four brass feet at the bottom. The exterior shows evidence of extensive travel use with various surface abrasions and deep linear scratches throughout the panels. Marked under the handle Hartmann and monogrammed P.B.B. on the top panel. 12 1/4” H x 20 5/8” W x 7” D.
