Peter Benchley's R.D. Gomez Leather Attaché Briefcase - Spanish R.D. Gomez leather attaché briefcase. The hard-sided rectangular case is constructed of tan leather over a wooden frame. The briefcase features a single leather-wrapped top handle and two brass-tone flip-latches with keyholes. The interior is lined with a dark brown fabric in a geometric basketweave pattern. The lid includes an accordion-style document organizer with multiple pockets and a central leather snap-closure retaining strap. Brass-tone folding stays are mounted to the interior sides to support the lid. Marked on the interior leather strap. From the personal collection of Peter Benchley (American, 1940–2006), acclaimed author of Jaws, accomplished diver, and prominent advocate for ocean and shark conservation.
