Peter Benchley's Akubra Pure Fur Felt Snowy River Hat - Akubra Snowy River model outback-style hat formerly owned by author Peter Benchley. The hat is fashioned from fawn-colored pure fur felt in a size 60. It features a classic pinched crown and a wide, downturned brim. A decorative dark brown leather band encircles the crown, detailed with an embossed basketweave pattern and a small metal brand badge. A multicolored feather plume in shades of red, black, and yellow is tucked into the side of the hat band. The interior is finished with a dark brown leather sweatband. Marked in the crown Akubra and on the sweatband Snowy River. 4 1/2” H x 13 5/8” W x 14 5/8” L. From the personal collection of Peter Benchley (American, 1940–2006), acclaimed author of Jaws, accomplished diver, and prominent advocate for ocean and shark conservation.
