The first volume is The Funnel of Gold, published by Little, Brown and Company in 1975, and is a stated first edition. The second volume is Octopus and Squid: The Soft Intelligence, co-authored by Philippe Diolé (French, 1908-1977) and published by Doubleday & Company, Inc. in 1973. This volume is a stated first edition in the United States. The Cousteau volume is a cloth-bound hardcover with a yellow pictorial dust jacket and contains 124 color photographs detailing marine biological discoveries. Marked with reference notations.
