Jacobean Carved Oak Paneled Blanket Chest - Jacobean blanket chest or coffer, constructed from solid oak with a dark-stained finish. The chest features a three-panel front and a three-panel hinged top with cleated ends. The front panels are embellished with hand-carved stylized floral motifs, including a central plant or lily design flanked by two circular patterns containing quatrefoils. The vertical stiles and horizontal rails are decorated with geometric notch and punch carvings. The piece utilizes traditional paneled construction and is fitted with internal iron strap hinges. An inset rectangular brass lock plate is mounted on the front face. 27” H x 47” W x 11 1/2” D.
