Rand McNally Map with Albert Grossman and Bob Dylan Annotations - Rand McNally & Company printed paper on board map of the United States featuring handwritten annotations related to Albert Grossman (American, 1926-1986). Many locations are inscribed in ink and pencil with notes referencing mid-20th-century music figures including Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, Gordon Lightfoot, and Dr. John. These annotations include travel memos, location markers for associates, and commentary from the mid-1960s to early 1970s. Annotations such as ”Janis lives here”, ”Memo: Dylan has built this wharf/he should be allowed to pick his own friends here. Also the time of his appearance should be left up to him.”, ”Memo: Make Sure Bob Dylan shows up...Albert will not be going along.”, and ”Artie Mogull was born here but Never Slept Here”, Barry Feinstein live here. Big Deal”,   The map is mounted to board and set within a simple dark-stained wooden frame. The lower center includes a printed legend and title block. The annotations are located across the Atlantic Ocean, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Western United States.
