After Gilbert Stuart Hand-Colored Lithograph Portrait of George Washington - After Gilbert Stuart (American, 1755-1828). Hand-colored lithograph on paper, Portrait of George Washington. This large-scale work presents the subject in a three-quarter view, modeled after the Athenaeum portrait. The image is presented within a dark mount featuring a gilded arched border, accented at the top center with an integrated decorative floral motif of a red blossom and green leaves. The artwork is housed in a wide Victorian-era gilt wood and composition frame decorated with scrolling foliate and geometric motifs. The reverse features a wooden panel backing secured by metal points. Unsigned. Sight: 18 x 9 in. Frame: 35 x 22 in.
