Group of Bearsville Decorative Objects and Memorabilia - Group of antique advertising stoneware, folk art, and metalware objects. The dark brown stoneware advertising canteen features embossed text for B.W. Hooper & Bro. of Nashville, Tennessee, finished in an Albany-type slip glaze with a single side handle. A small cream-colored pottery pitcher displays a black slip-painted bird decoration over a red clay body. The dark-stained wooden charitable wall box is carved with cross and quatrefoil motifs. A cast metal bear boot scraper is mounted on a wooden base. The primitive bag is constructed from interwoven bark strips with a toggle closure and woven shoulder straps. The Jens Quistgaard tiered candlestick is marked on the underside. Largest piece: 12” H x 10” W x 5” D. From the Woodstock, New York estate of music manager Albert Grossman, best known for managing artists including Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, The Band, and Peter, Paul and Mary.
