Leonard Bernstein Signed Letter and Photograph William Schuman Celebration - Leonard Bernstein (American, 1918-1990). Signed letter and photograph, William Schuman 70th Birthday Celebration, circa 1980. The custom framed display includes a typed letter on official committee stationery that promotes performances of William Schuman’s music for his 70th anniversary season. The letterhead lists notable musicians including Aaron Copland, Zubin Mehta, and Mstislav Rostropovich. Mounted alongside the document is a black-and-white gelatin silver print depicting Bernstein conducting. The items are double-matted in burgundy and gold paper within a gold-toned wooden frame. Signed Leonard Bernstein in blue ink at the lower right of the letter. The verso bears a black and gold adhesive label for Island Art Center. Frame: 14” x 17 3/4”.
