A Pair of Sevres-Style Gilt-Bronze Mounted Porcelain Lidded Urns - A pair of lidded porcelain urns featuring a forest green ground and hand-painted pastoral scenes. Each urn displays a central cartouche within a raised gilt scrollwork border. One scene depicts a couple in a landscape with a basket of fruit and a spade, while the other shows a man playing bagpipes for a seated woman. The reverse of each body is decorated with a single gilt floral sprig. The urns are fitted with gilt-bronze mounts, including pinecone finials atop domed lids, pierced galleries, and twin handles terminating in female mascarons. The tapering bodies are supported by pedestal stems on square bases with notched corners and bracket feet. The painted scenes are signed R. NELS at the lower left. The underside of the porcelain, visible through the metal base, bears an interlaced double L mark. 20” H x 5” W x 5” D. Location: 10B
