A Pair of Mastro Cappellini Louis XVI Style Marquetry Bedside Chests - A pair of Mastro Cappellini three-drawer bedside chests or small commodes in the Louis XVI style. The chests feature elaborate marquetry and parquetry work using various fruitwood, walnut, and mahogany veneers. The secondary wood used in the drawer construction is a light-colored hardwood. Each chest contains three drawers featuring machine-cut dovetail joinery. The hardware consists of gilt-brass neoclassical oval ring pulls with relief-decorated backplates showing classical figures.
