French Empire Style Mahogany and Variegated Green Marble Side Table - A French Empire style side table or guéridon featuring a circular top made of dark green variegated marble. The marble top is inset within a mahogany finished wood apron, which is decorated with three applied gilt metal mounts. Each mount consists of a classical Medusa mask flanked by scrolling foliate motifs. The table is supported by a tripod base with three out-swept legs. Each leg capital is carved and gilded in the form of a swan head with detailed feathering. The legs are connected by a concave Y-shaped stretcher and terminate in carved, gilded animal paw feet. 30” H x 22” diameter.
