Late 19th Century French Neoclassical Green Onyx and Portoro Marble Side Table - A French neoclassical style side table, or gueridon, dating to the late 19th century. The table is constructed from green onyx, black marble with gold-toned veining consistent with Portoro marble, and cast metal components. The octagonal top features an intricate geometric stone inlay composed of a central green onyx circular panel bordered by a ring of black marble. Four radiating marble bands extend to the corners, separating larger trapezoidal panels of green onyx. The top is finished with a vertical stone-clad apron. The table stands on four cylindrical legs featuring alternating sections of marble and onyx accented with metal collars and caps. The legs are joined near the base by a cast metal X-stretcher with curved arms decorated with foliate and mask motifs, meeting at a central hub topped with a decorative finial. The table terminates in fluted, tapered metal feet. 25 x 18 x 18 inches.
