Late 19th Century French Cobalt Blue Porcelain and Ormolu Mounted Urn - Large porcelain decorative pedestal urn featuring a cobalt blue ground. The body is decorated with a hand-painted pastoral scene depicting a couple in 18th-century attire within an elaborate gilt scroll and foliate frame. The reverse side features a hand-painted river landscape with architectural ruins. The flared neck and foot are decorated with fine gilt vine and laurel leaf patterns. The item is fitted with ornate cast and chased gilt bronze mounts, including a gadrooned rim, two scrolling handles terminating in satyr masks, a foliate collar at the stem, and a laurel wreath border at the base. The urn stands on a square gilt bronze plinth supported by four scrolled acanthus feet. The underside reveals a wooden block and wing nut assembly.
