French Sevres Style Porcelain Amphora Vase with Ormolu Mounts - A late 19th-century French Sevres-style porcelain amphora-form vase featuring a rich cobalt blue ground and gilt-bronze ormolu mounts. The body is decorated with two large, hand-painted white reserves. The primary reserve depicts a pastoral scene of a maiden in 18th-century attire standing by a fountain with a putto, signed Morat in the lower left foreground. The reverse reserve features a multi-colored floral bouquet including roses and morning glories. Both reserves are bordered by elaborate raised gilt foliate and scrollwork. The vase is fitted with gilt-bronze mounts comprising a pierced scalloped rim, two scrolled handles with acanthus leaf details and suspended pinecone finials, and an octagonal pedestal foot joined to a square base with a cast laurel wreath band and four bracket feet. 14 1/2” H x 7” W x 4 1/2” D.
