WOODEN CHEST WITH LANDSCAPES AND IDEAL VIEWS OF THE RIVER RHINE AS BLACK ENAMEL PAINTING.
Germany.
Date: Ca. 1780.
Maker/Designer: Presumably Middle Rhine.
Technique: Cherry, bird's eye maple and maple veneered and inlaid. Fittings with remains of gilding.
Description: Straight-lined body, with bevelled corners at the front. Ideal landscapes and river
landscapes in two rectangular picture fields on each of the two large drawers. Wide
cartouche with rounded sides on the top. Contains an ideal Rhine landscape.
Measurement: 80,5x127x63,5cm.
