A Set of New York Evening Journal Comic Buttons. - (New York Evening Journal, 1930s) A complete set of twenty-one New York Evening Journal comic buttons, part of a contest run by the newspaper. Readers were given a lucky number, and if their number matched the one in the Journal's comic pages, they won a prize. Featured are comic stars Popeye, Krazy Kat, Ignatz Mouse, Little Annie Rooney, and many more. Measuring 1.25” in diameter each, the buttons are in good condition with light stains, scratches, wear, oxidation on the reverse, and discoloration from age.
