A ”Shinbone Alley” Production Archive. - (Fine Art Films, 1970) A large archive of art and production materials from the animated musical ”Shinbone Alley” starring Carol Channing and Eddie Bracken. From the estate of director John Wilson, this collection includes 99 production cels, 28 production drawings, 4 color model cels, 18 xeroxes of character drawings, the spiral-bound production control notebook, the master script, a production script for music recording, a first draft of the script on vellum, a second draft of the script, signed notes from writer Joe Darion to Wilson concerning dialogue and story, a budget breakdown, continuity notes, a folder of article clippings and publicity photos, and 5 early drawings of lead characters Archie and Mithabell from as far back as 1950. This is an astounding collection from production of the film, which was based on the Broadway musical by Darion, Mel Brooks, and George Kleinsinger. Ranging in size from 5.5” x 8.5” to 11.25” x 15.25”, the archive is in good to very good condition with creases, production notations, folds, a loose label, the cover of the production control notebook completely separated, and wear from production use.
