A Bill Martin ”The Egyptian” Concept Set Design Painting. - (20th Century-Fox, 1954) A set design concept painting for ”The Egyptian” by future Disney Legend Bill Martin. This Cinemascope Epic set in ancient Egypt called for elaborate sets and costumes, many of which were later used in ”The Ten Commandments.” Martin created this painting of a courtyard. This may have been his last job for Fox, before accepting a call from Walt Disney in 1953 to work as one of the first Imagineers on Disneyland. Measuring 9.5” x 24”, the mixed-media painting displays in very good condition with wear from original production use, including small folds and a 1” tear in the left edge, light chipping, small creases, and a few pinholes from display.
