Imperial Frock Coat for a Doctor (Arzt) - Here is a pre-WWI German Überrock (frock) for a Doctor (Arzt) in the rank of Oberleutnant. This first lieutenant would have been a doctor in a medical unit or possibly a Veterinarian. The tunic’s body is made of fine blue wool. Inside, the tunic is beautifully finished with a silk liner. It is with a 3-inch red stand-up collar that has 3 closure fastening hooks and is lined in the black material. The front of the coat is double breasted with 12 flat brass buttons 6 on either side. The tunic’s reverse features four gilt buttons at the vent. The shoulder boards sewn into the shoulders. The obverse of the shoulder boards are in very fine condition with the rank and medical designation in brass attached to each board and secured by the same flat brass buttons as are on the rest of the coat. The reverse of the shoulder boards are very dark blue. The second buttonhole features miniatures of ribbons of three decorations.
