We offer in this auction this awesome relic condition m40 single decal helmet, that was found in the Ukrainian area of Cherkassy, where the famous pocket took place. This helmet was found along with the SS-VT ID tag and the SS buckle that are also offered in this auction and that belonged to a soldier of the SS-VT (Verfügungstruppe) of the Regiment Germania, that was later renamed as Waffen SS Wiking Division. This helmet doesn't preserve the leather interior and liner, but the lid is very solid, with no single rust coming off so it's perfectly displayable. It has a very nice SS runes decal that is almost complete, with almost a 85% of it present. Helmet is marked ET64.SS-Verfügungstruppe (SS-VT) (English: SS Dispositional Troops) was formed in 1934 as combat troops for the Nazi Party (NSDAP). On 17 August 1938 Adolf Hitler decreed that the SS-VT was neither a part of the police nor the German Wehrmacht, but military-trained men at the disposal of the Führer. At the time of war, the SS-VT were to be placed at the disposal of the army.The SS-VT were involved in the German invasion of Poland in September 1939.
