The process of taking over the IV / 1 pamot began on September 28, 1943, and ended on November 17 of that year with the signing of the protocol No. 1717/43 by the second deputy commanders of both regiments. From October 7, 1943, the soldiers of the regiment command and the 1st and 2nd squadrons appeared in berets and shoulder badges of the 1st Armored Division. On November 1, 1943, the former 1st Heavy Artillery Regiment was renamed the 2nd Motor Artillery Regiment. On November 24, 1943, the regiment moved from Haddington to Johnstone.
