Early SS Dagger by Carl Eickhorn RZM 941/36/SS - A Model 1933 SS Dagger (Schutzstaffel Dienstdolch) by Carl Eickhorn of Solingen SS Contract Number 941 1936. This is a very interesting example which is ”double proofed”. It has the initial early large double oval trademark with, ”CE” below the squirrel. Appearing below the trademark is a smaller style open RZM circle with the SS contract ”941/36/SS”. It is believed that these daggers were returned by the original owners to have the Rohm, inscription factory removed and were not reissued till 1936. In order to be in compliance with the 1936 regulations they had to have the RZM added. The blade on this one looks good! The acid etched ”Meine Ehre Heißt Treue” motto and double oval ”C.E. Carl Eickhorn Solingen” maker mark and ”RZM 941/36/SS” are all dark, crisp and beautifully executed! The fit and tip are both perfect. The blade rates Exc. It shows surface scratches/runner marks and minor age greying and spotting throughout. The scabbard it is steel based, black anodized and retains 70/80% of its original factory lacquer! The ball remains perfectly round and all four scabbard screws remain intact. The nickel silver based textbook curvature crossguards look excellent! The lower side is no district stamp which is what you would expect to see on these very early Eickhorns. The grip is black died hardwood. The nickel silver based eagle is crisp, detailed and has a perfect fit. The SS roundel retains 99% of its enamel and also has a perfect fit! Included is a nice long hanger. A wonderful example!***THIS ITEM SHIPS FROM OUR EUROPE OFFICE*** Condition: Very good condition with traces of hard wear. As the pictures shown.
