Mitzvas HaMelech by Rav Chaim HaCohen of Tripoli - Author's Dedication and Stamp
Sefer Mitzvas HaMelech, Azharos with "Ner Mitzva" and "Hiddur Mitzva" commentaries, by Rav Chaim HaCohen, Av Beis Din of Tripoli.
- Handwritten dedication before title page in author's handwriting, with stamp, to the historian: Yaakov Psantir, in Iasi, Romania.
Hagaon Rav Chaim HaCohen of Tripoli (passed away in 5665), born in Djerba and studied Torah from its gedolim. In Tripoli he studied under Rav Shaul HaCohen and Rav Avraham HaCohen. He was proficient in Torah as well as in Kaballah and served as Dayan in Rav Avraham Chaim Adadi's Beis Din. Authored many sefarim, among them 'Mitzvas HaMelech', 'Lev Shomeah', 'Navah Kodesh' and others.
Yaakov Psantir - the first historian in Romania. Authored a number of Sefarim, which served as the basis for Roman Jewish historiography.
