Halachic answer- does a split in the lung which was closed up via blowing, and it closes the opening, is it considered a closure, and therefore it is kosher? Or not? Handwritten by Rav Yonah Zev Halpert of Makova- author of Sefer Mareh Reyah.
Rav Yonah Zev Halpert, born in Munkatch (passed away: 5698) was orphaned at a young age and was raised in the home of Rav Shlomo Shapira, Av Beis Din of Munkatch, together with his childhood friend- the Minchas Elazar- grandson of the abovementioned Rav Shlomo. He learned Torah from the
Imrey Shefer of דאראג, and afterward from the rabbonim of Belz- to whom he became very close.
He was extremely learned in hilchos shechita- so much so that his rav (Rav Yissachar Dov Rokeach of Belz) told him that "even Mashiach ben Dovid can eat from your shechita!" One night, he recited all the halachos of shechita, by heart, to the Arugos Habosem.
He is known by the name of his important sefer
"Mareh Reyah" (Munkatch 5667). See his biography at beginning of abovementioned sefer- new edition.
