The Steipler’s Handwritten Chiddushim on Maseches Meilah Handwritten chiddushim and glosses on Maseches Meilah by Rabbi Yisrael Yaakov Kanievsky, the Steipler. These chiddushim were subsequently printed in Kehillos Yaakov on Maseches Meilah. Two complete sides with an additional short paragraph inscribed by his holy hand. The chiddushim are typewritten, but all amendments and glosses are handwritten. Glimpses of Greatness The Steipler Gaon, Zatzal (5659-5745) was one of the Gedoley Hador of the previous generation. He attached great importance to the printing of his Torah novellae, in Sefer Kehillos Yaakov. Before writing his novellae he would perform tevilah in the mikveh (Orchos Rabbeinu Volume 5 page 235). Additionally, he used a special pen for writing the novellae (ibid. volume 1 page 348). He would put in a great deal of effort to be absolutely sure that everything was written with 100% accuracy, in order that all would be exactly according to the Torah truth. 4 leaves.
