Document written and signed by Rav Nosson Amram, author of Kinyan HaGuf, Temeshvar 1837

Receipt, written and signed by Rabbi Nosson Amram, for a donation from the Temeshvar community, through Rabbi Zvi Hirsh Oppenehim, av”d Temeshvar.
The donation was received during Rabbi Nosson’s 1837 visit to Temeshvar (one of the oldest Jewish communities in Transylvania).

Rabbi Nosson Amram (c. 1790-1871) authored the noted works, Kinyan HaGuf, Kinyan Peiros and others. For many years, he was a shadar on behalf of the Chevron community in the Diaspora. In 1863, he was appointed rabbi of Alexandria. “In addition to his immense Torah knowledge and humility, he was very knowledgeable in medicine.” (Hamaalos L’Shlomo, 1997, p. 291)
Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Oppenheim (1793-1859) was av”d Temeshvar from 1821. He authored the Einei Ha’Daas opposing Aharon Choriner. The Chasam Sofer wrote in his approbation, “I know this man and his talk, he is amazing in Torah, sharpness, knowledge and is known to be a tzaddik.”
