Shu"t Keren L'Dovid with comment written by Rav Shmuel Gross of Krula, son-in-law of Rav Yeshaya of Kerestir

  • Shu"t Keren L'Dovid. Responsa on Orech Chaim by Rav Eliezer Dovid Greenwald, av"d Satmar.
    Satmar, [1929]. First edition.
    [4], 180,[13] leaves. 29 cm.
    Without spine. Fine condition.

    •  Stamp of HaGaon HaChassid Rav Shmuel Gross av"d Berbesht in a number of places.
    • Handwritten comment on leaf 41b, apparently written by this tzaddik.

Rav Shmuel Gross was a gaon and tzaddik, a prominent rosh yeshivah in Hungary before the Holocaust. He was the son-in-law of the famed tzaddik, Rav Yeshaya of Kerestir and was supported and lived by him for many years.
Rav Shmuel was rav in Berbesht, and when Rebbe Yoel Teitelbaum moved to Satmar, Rav Shmuel took over his position in Krula.
