Sephardic Rabbanim. Manuscript of Teami Halachos, piyyutim and segulos. Demnate. Morocco 19-20th century. Halachos and minhagim of shechitah and treifah in manuscript. Morocco, 19th-20th century. A few marginal glosses in a different hand. On leaf 17a, listed at the top of the page: טעמי שחיטות בעיר דמנאת יא”ע and in the margin of the colophon on the same leaf: ע”ה ישראל בלולו. Demnate is nestled on the bottom of the tall Atlas Mountains in the south of Morocco, about 120 kilometers east of Marrakech. It was home to many Torah scholars and mekubalim. The Belulu family of mekubalim is particularly well known, Rav Avraham Belulu and Rav Shlomo Belulu (Refer to Malchei Rabanan 17,a 118,a). A few papers were placed between the pages of the manuscript, with hymns and piyyutim and a few segulos – these leaves are worn and torn. 50 leaves. 11x18 cm. Original, worn Moroccan back cover. Detached leaves. Moderate condition.
