Sofer Family. Letter from Rabbi Yitzchak Tzvi Sofer av”d Temeshvar-Fabric, author of the Misaper HaSofer. Letter written and signed by Rabbi Yitzchak Zvi Sofer sent to his cousin, Rabbi Dovid, Temeshvar, 1939. Rabbi Yitzchak Zvi sofer av”d Temeshvar – Fabric (1888-1966), author of Shu”t Misaper Hasofer, was the son of Rabbi Yisroel Mordechai Fischel Sofer, son of the Yalkut Eliezer. After the death of his father, he was raised by his uncle Rabbi Yosef Leib Sofer. He learned in the Paks yeshivah and published the Nitai Bachurim anthology with divrei Torah. When he was older, he escaped communist Romania and moved to Yerushalayim. He was a member of the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah of Agudas Yisroel. A large portion of his Misaper HaSofer relates to releasing agunot after the Holocaust in Transylvania. His son, Rabbi Eliezer Mordechai Efraim Fischel Sofer, served as rabbi in the Toldos Yaakov Papa community in Yerushalayim. ***** Temeshvar-Fabric, 1939. 15.5x20 cm. Fold marks, fine condition.
