Poster in Yiddish printed by the Rav of Paks, Rabbi Eliezer Zussman Sofer, with information for his community regarding kashrus on Pesach. He makes three points: 1. Only buy flour from a mill with excellent kashrus supervision. 2. Do not use thick matzos that are made especially to make into crumbs. 3. Artificial pepper is chametz gamur. Rabbi Eliezer Zussman Sofer (1828-1903) was the son of Rabbi Mordechai Efraim Fishel, son-in-law of Rabbi Yoel Ungar av”d Paks, author of Shu”t Riv”a. He was a prominent Hungarian rabbi and a prolific author. The Chasam Sofer was his mohel and he learned by him when he was young, though his primary rebbeim were the Ksav Sofer and Maharam Schick. He was rabbi of Halas, then in 1886, when his father-in-law passed away, he took over his position as av”d in Paks, where he served until his death. ***** Paks, 1888 24x30 cm.
