Rabbi Moshe Zacuto (1625-1697) was the most prominent Italian kabbalist of his time. He studied kabbalah by Rabbi Binyamin Halevi, talmid of Rav Chaim Vital, so he was a strong link the transmission of Lurianic kabbalah. His Mantua beis medrash was the biggest kabbalah beis medrash in Italy and the most active in editing and arranging the writings of the Arizal.
