Manuscript “Ma’amar Hitgalachat” and responsa from Italian Rabbis.

Manuscript of the Ma’amar Hitgalachat by Rabbi Yitzchak Shmuel Reggio – The "Yashar of Gorizia, " followed by responsa by Italian sages and members of the Consistoire de Paris, Rabbi Yechiel Chaim Treves av”d קסאלי and Rabbi Avraham Chai de Cologna av”d Paris, from 1807-1809.

Nice, organized copy. Solitary marginal corrections. At the conclusion (leaf 28a-32b) “Two response that weren’t printed in the aforementioned edition from rabbis Yechiel Chaim Treves, leader of the Consistoire of קסאלי and Avraham de Cologna av”d of the Consistoire in Paris…they all tend to the opinion of the Yashar, author of M a’amar Hitgalachat.”

In the Ma’amar Hitgalachat (Vienna, 1835), the Yashar took into account the situation in Italy at the time and permitted shaving during Chol Hamoed. This topic had been previously discussed by the Italian rabbis, and his opinion aroused a huge controversy, with some sages prohibiting and others permitting shaving (with some limitations). Rabbi Avraham Chai Reggio, the father of Yashar, contested his son’s work in his Tiglachat HaMa'amar (Leghorn 1839). The responses of these Italian sages were not printed in the Ma’amar Hitgalachat, but were printed much later by Binyahu in his “Tiglachat B’Cholo shel Moed” (Yad Harav Nissim 1995).
