Interesting Handwritten Response from Rabbi Shimon Greenfield Regarding Accepting Position in a Reform City

Interesting handwritten response from Rabbi Shimon Greenfield, known as the Maharashag, regarding the matter of accepting a position in a city run by reform officials.
The question was posed by a disciple who was offered a position as shochet in the city of Segedin which was ruled by reformists. He would serve under the auspices of the Makava Beis Din and questions if it is appropriate for him to accept such a position and live in such a place.
The Maharshag replies in short, "In my opinion you can go there."

Rabbi Shimon Greenfield  (1860 - 1930), author of Responsa Maharshag, was a rabbinical pillar of Hungary in his time. He studied in the yeshivah of the Maharam Shick and traveled at a young age to study by Rabbi Chaim of Sanz. He succeeded his father's position as Rabbi of Somihali where he upheld a large yeshivah. Hundreds of his responses were printed in the three parts of Responsa Maharshag.
