E. SAFFORD TRIO OF WOODEN MOLDING PLANES - A trio of nineteenth-century American wooden molding planes constructed from beechwood with steel irons and wooden wedges. One plane features an adjustable brass fence and depth stop assembly. A handwritten red paper tag attached with twine to one plane reads E. SAFFORD, #4 Round, Circa 1813-1821, U-Common. Stamped maker marks appear on the toes of the bodies but are not clearly legible.
