Royal China Garden Classics Spinach Salad Recipe Serving Bowl - An American Royal China Company white earthenware serving bowl from the Garden Classics series, dated 1983. The large, shallow circular bowl features green transfer-printed decoration on a white ground. The interior well is centered with a recipe for ”SPINACH SALAD” and ”Sweet 'n Tangy Dressing,” accompanied by a graphic depiction of spinach leaves, mushrooms, and eggs. A continuous border of stylized spinach leaves encircles the interior rim. The face of the bowl bears a printed copyright mark along the right edge of the central decorative banner reading ”© 1983 ROYAL CHINA CO.” (photo 2). The underside features an elaborate green transfer-printed backstamp. A banner at the top reads ”GARDEN CLASSICS” above a text block detailing the history of salads and the craftsmanship of the ”Royal China” company in ”Sebring, Ohio.” The mark concludes with the origin ”U.S.A.” (photo 4).
