It was published in Rome in 1799. This state follows a state authorized by Sartine in Paris in 1778 for use in the American Revolution. Antoine de Sartine (1729-1801) was a French policeman and Secretary of the French Navy. While the Lieutenant General of Police of Paris, he commissioned the Halle aux Bles, which is, to this day, a commerce center in Paris. As the Secretary of the Navy, he was responsible for the modernization of the French Navy which greatly contributed to the French & American victory during the American Revolution. Giovanni Brun (1748-1800) was an Italian engraver who mostly produced views of Rome, and later in his career, re-published maps of North America.
