The work was published in London in 1818 by Longman, Hurst, Rees, Orme, & Brown. The volume is bound in half-leather with marbled boards, five raised bands and faded gold gilt tooling. It include on folding engraved map and three woodcut illustrations in the text. The work was written by Lieutenant Francis Hall of the 14th Light Dragoons, a British military officer.
