Bartlett's American Scenery - Two Volumes with 118 Scenic Engravings - This two volume work with a map and 118 engravings is Nathaniel Willis and W. H. Bartlett's American Scenery; or, Land, Lake, and River Illustrations of Transatlantic Nature. From Drawings by W. H. Bartlett. The work was published by George Virtue in London in 1840. The volumes are bound in dark green leather with gold gilt detailing. The work features two decorative frontispieces, a map, and 66 scenic engravings to volume one, and 52 engravings to volume two. The text was completed by Nathaniel Willis. The scenic views by Bartlett include Niagara Falls, the Hudson River Valley, West Point, Crow's Nest from Bull Hill, View From Ruggle's House, Newburgh, Peekskill Landing, and Indian Falls.
