Mauton - View of Procida, Italy (Isola di Procida) - This truly exquisite gouache painting depicts a scene in Naples or its surrounding environs. The painting was completed by M. Mauton, a local artist in the early 1800s. He created spectactacular paintings that showed Vesuvius erupting and local landscapes. Mauton's signature can be found below the painting.
