Powell's Annual Report of the Bureau of Ethnology to the Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution . The work was published in Washington in 1892 by the Government Printing Office. John Wesley Powell (1834-1902) was an American geologist, U.S. Army soldier, explorer of the American West, and a professor at Illinois Wesleyan University.
