The images in the series depict scenes of the Holocaust and the destruction of European Jewry. Glas (1897-1973) created the prints in 1942 in Kibbutz Yagor, where he settled after immigrating to Israel in 1934. At first, the Israeli publishers refused to print the series, and it was published in South Africa. It was only in 1945 that it was also released in Israel.
