Scarce American Flyer wide gauge 110 Union Station from Russell Park collection - Scarce American Flyer wide gauge 110 Union Station from Russell Park collection, This station is the exact one as seen in Russell Parks book from 1971, page 33. There are a few identifying marks on the station in the book that are exactly the same as the one that we have here. They are a white slash of paint on the top front tower, a damaged window at the bottom of the tower and some other discoloration under the windows on the right side. The station is a very early variation as there are no posts in the back where the eagles would have been mounted. There is a small porcelain light base mounted on the top of the tower but under where the clock section sits so as to light up the clock. The top of the roof has some issues and areas of damage to the green wood going around the tower just below the actual roof pieces and above the white sections. The bas is partially original with the shrubs on the sides and in the very middle of the front matching those in parks book but the hedge rows have definitely been replaced at some point over the years as the hedge in Parks book had several areas of damage as it was already 45 years old at that point. Overall a great accessory for any collection, the most difficult of all American Flyer wide gauge accessories to find.
