Possible American Flyer wide gauge flat car prototype - Possible American Flyer wide gauge flat car prototype. This car was featured in a September 1997 CTT article written by Stan Merritt. The car is most certainly unique as mentioned in the article. It has a typical flat car frame with five thin and short stakes holding a load of six lumber planks. the car is painted gray with the stakes appearing unpainted although they seem to be painted silver but under a blacklight, appear to be the same color as the rest of the car. Comes with very early black flex trucks with no journals as seen in the photos. Comes with the full printed article from Classic Toy trains as provenance.
