Prussian Imperial artillery Lion Head sword with scabbard - Prussian Imperial artillery Lion Head sword with scabbard. This is a Prussian Imperial Artillery Officer's Sword from before World War I, it is in very good condition, it has intricate engraving on both sides starting about 1 inch below the hilt to about 12 1/2 inches down the blade, there is a makers mark on it that is hard to make out because part of the hit covers it, you can see the tops of two squirrels engraved there, the handle is brass or copper in color and there is a monogram in the hilt, it is difficult to figure what letters are there, not due to wear, its tough to read the script, it also has what I believe to be the date of presentation 1.5.03, The sword measures 37 1/4 inches from the top of the lions head to the tip of the blade, the scabbard is very darkly patinaed.
