Rare first edition of Pirkei Avos according to the Magid of Kozhnitz and his son, printed in Lviv, 1866. - The rare and individual first edition of Pirkei Avos by the Magid of Koznitz and Pirkei Moshe by his son Moshe Elyakim Briah of Koznitz.  Printed in Lviv in 1866.  Includes listings of owners.  Rabbi Yisroel Hopstein (1737–1814)]was also known as the Maggid of Kozhnitz. He was a noted chassidish leader in Poland during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. He was a student of both the Magid Dov Ber of Mezeritch and Rabbi Elimelech of Lizhensk and wrote many seforim on Chassidus and Kabbalah. He is sometimes referred to as ”the Avodas Yisrael” for his works. Rabbi Moshe Elyakim Briah was the author of the Beer Moshe and many other seforim.
