The holy Kitel of the saintly Rabbi Yoel of Satmar - In front of us is the Kitel that the distinguished Satmar Rabbi used for his holy Avodah in the months of Nisan and Tishrei. His special service to his creator was compared to that of angels. This Kitel, made of pure linen by Mrs Richter, was created specifically for the Rabbi. After many years of use, the Rebbetzin gave it to a close friend of the family as a gesture of thanks.  It is noteworthy that the Kitel is distinct from any other garment worn by the Rabbi. The reason being that the Rabbi had specific requirements for this particular article of clothing, and it was only used during certain times of the year. Therefore, he didn't have more than two Kitlech in his house at once. The condition of this Kitel is stunning. It has been in the possession of its caretaker, who has guarded it like the apple of his eye and has been very attentive to its cleanliness. As a result, it is fresh, polished, pure, and clean, just as this sacred garment deserves to be. This Kitel was used for the sanctified night of the Seder, where the Rabbi used to perform all the Mitzvos of the night, eat Matzah, and drink the four Kosos in his customary fiery manner. The Rabbi used this special Kitel when fasted and atoned for all of Klal Yisroel on the holiest day of the year, Yom Kippur.  It is told of the rivers of tears that flowed from him as he evoked his community to repentance.  This was also used during Tekias Shofar, during the special Tefilos of Hoshana Raba, and by Birchas Geshem and Tal. The Rabbi's prayer was so powerful and passionate that it shook the heavens with piety and flame, making it impossible to explain to someone who wasn't there. It is known from our Tzadikim that on the special night of Leil Haseder, it is a custom to wear holy articles of clothing or objects that prior Gedolim used to perform Mitzvos. This is done to awaken their merit in this sanctified time.  In this time of Pesach, you can still attain the zechus of wearing the garment of the king!
