He was one of the trusted attendants of the Tzemech Tzadik of Viznitz.  Rabbi Eliezer Zvi Safrin of Kamarna was a son of Rabbi Yitzchok Eizik Yehuda Yechiel Safrin, the Heichal Habracha. He was a lofty and holy man, and one of the Mekubalim of Kamarna. He was crowned as Rabbi according to the will of his father.
